Pizza Express
This iconic building is located on the site of an old café and concrete bunker, and required major excavation of the existing ground level to create the main seating areas. Many of the finishes were bespoke to this project and included a specialist green roof with Alucobond external cladding, a lightweight aluminium frame and glass sliding roof section from Canada and custom made precast concrete units rarely used in Jersey.
The whole area, due to the location was tanked and flood defences were also installed under the alfresco area to cope with every eventuality, whether from tidal water or rainwater.
